ERASED
Weekly Review: With the raw emotions that were beautifully on display in episode 8 of ERASED, we got the most heart warming episode to date. This week was different than most weeks though. The emotions that were carved into our limbic systems this week were an awkward mix of joy and sadness. These feelings brought me, as a full grown man, to tears as I watched the scene preceding the credits. Seeing how moved a little a girl was to see a full plate on the table for breakfast, something I have never really given any thought to, was really eye opening. It made me think.. I’ve been blessed with such a simple and easy going life. I’ve always thought of myself as a grateful man, but seeing how waking up to a full meal for the first time brought Kayo to tears, makes me wonder if I even know what it means to be grateful. I have been on what I believed to be rock bottom many times over the course of my life, with but only the terrible decisions I made as an adolescent to thank, but never have I been in such a place where the gesture of a home cooked meal could bring me to tears.
Never before has an anime spoke to me in such a way that it makes me want to change the way I live my life. No matter how many times I have seen Luffy get back up and refuse to lose a fight, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that if you punch me in the face hard enough… I am not getting up. Satoru’s fight to save this poor child from the piss poor hand she was dealt in life, however, is something I feel I can, and should, emulate.
As for what transpired this week, I feel we’re being set up for a huge plot twist. Week after week the hints leading up to a specific culprit have been getting less and less subtle. I don’t feel that the point of this story is to find out who committed all these crimes, but rather Satoru’s journey as he does what he can to rescue his friends. So if it does end up going the route of the obvious I honestly don’t think I’d mind, but I feel there is one big piece of evidence that points in different directions than were being lead down. What it is? Well let’s just say it’s a problem of numbers.

when i saw Kayo-chan crying when she sees hot meal provided for her… I feel she think this is “home” or “heaven” compares to what happened in her home.

Yeah its been an awesome emotional roller-coaster. It’s gonna be sad to see it end so soon.

ah…, talk about ending, ending in anime is too short because it remains only 1 episode. I like ending in manga more than in anime because mangaka explained very well about the feeling of MC and his former sensei.

Yea, I’m not a big fan of fan scans, so as soon as it’s available is the US I’m gonna buy it! I’ve heard nothing but that it’s better than the anime.
